Learning Objectives

The aims of this course:

  • To understand the basic concepts and the applications of database systems.
  • To master the basics of SQL and construct queries using SQL.
  • To understand the relational database design principles.
  • To understand data modeling using ER Model.
  • To understand relational database model and database creation using the specified DBMS.

Learning Outcomes

The successful completion of this course, Student will be able:

  • To demonstrate the basic elements of a relational database management system.
  • To identify the data models for relevant problems.
  • To design entity relationship and convert entity relationship diagrams into RDBMS and formulate SQL queries on the respect data.
  • To identify a range of DB-solutions and critically evaluate them and justify proposed design and development solutions.
  • To analyze a wide range of database design issues and provide solutions through suitable design, structures, diagrams, and other appropriate design methods.
